Royal Schiphol Group has seen a strong recovery at its airports in the first half of 2023.
However, while it is undertaking major expansion projects at its two airports in Australia and has made an investment in Maastricht Aaachen Airport, it faces challenges at its flagship airport of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with the Dutch government’s plans to impose caps on flight operations.
Passenger traffic for Royal Schiphol Group’s airports in the Netherlands – consisting of the airports in Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Rotterdam - reached 33.2 million in the first half of 2023. This was a 21.6% increase in passengers compared to the same period in H1 2023, but still 14.2% below the 38.7 million passengers handled in the first half of 2019.
