In 2022, the airports operated under the Groupe ADP brand – including those operated by GMR Airports as well as TAV Airports – saw a year-on-year growth of 72.6% in passenger traffic to reach 280.4 million. This was 80.9% of that the total number of passengers handled under the Groupe ADP brand in 2019, and points towards a full recovery for the year 2023.

While the passenger traffic at the three main groups of airport operations under the Groupe ADP brand in 2022 – Paris Airports, TAV Airports and GMR Airports – was over 80% of that of 2019 levels, the airports under TAV Airports saw a year-on-year growth in passenger traffic of 46.7%. Nevertheless, TAV Airports saw year-on-year growth rates of over 150% at airports such as Medina Airport in Saudi Arabia (260.7%) and its two airports in Tunisia (181.6%).

For GMR Airports, it saw a 320.2% year-on-year growth rate at Mactan Cebu International Airport in the Philippines.

In particular, passenger traffic at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport and Paris Orly Airport saw a year-on-year increase of 106.7% - more than double the amount of the previous year - to reach 86.7 million passengers in the year 2022. The passenger throughput for both airports in 2022 was still 80.2% lower than that in 2019 though.

Much of the recovery in passenger traffic at the two airports in Paris was driven by intra-Europe (excluding France) traffic, which made up 45% of total passenger traffic and had reached 82.8% of 2019  levels.

International (excluding Europe) traffic made up 35.0% of total passenger traffic at the two airports and were at 76.3% of 2019 levels. Within this segment, traffic with the Asia/Pacific region still had a long way to recovery, especially due to China’s continued travel restrictions for the year - and therefore were only at 33.8% of 2019 levels.
