For the first half of 2024, Ferrovial reported that its Airports division registered strong growth in passenger traffic during the period. The airport operator is also considering the possibility of selling off its UK airports this year. Specifically, Heathrow had its busiest first half-year ever handling 39.8 million passengers between January and June 2024, which was a 7.3% gain year-over-year.

As a result of the solid demand, Heathrow Airport upgraded its traffic forecasts for 2024 to a new record of 82.8 million passengers, from 82.4 million previously. Other Ferrovial-operated airports in the United Kingdom - Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton airports - also performed well in the first half of 2024, with traffic increasing year-on-year by 7.8%, while Dalaman airport in Turkey reported a 10.4% increase.
