The PRPA issued an RFQ on Mar. 15, 2019 seeking qualified and experienced operators to provide operations and maintenance services at nine regional airports located throughout Puerto Rico. Based on the Statement of Qualifications (SoQs) received, the PRPA/gov’t will shortlist up to a maximum of five respondents for participation in the RFP stage, concluding with selection of a preferred proponent. The unconventional O&M contract structure includes a fixed price (on opex) for the contract term, a revenue share component and substantial risk transfer without being a full P3/PPP concession. In mid. Feb. 2021, officials inaugurated a USD866K expansion to PSE boarding facilities, part of a broader USD12.8m upgrading project including USD10.7.m Taxiway ‘A’ and USD469k underground runway drainage improvements.
