Turkey's Limak Eyes Additional Airport Concessions at Home and Beyond

The Turkish conglomerate Limak Group of Companies invests in the sectors of energy, tourism, food, construction, and infrastructure.
Its current investments in the airport sector include those in Prishtina International Airport “Adem Jashari” in Kosovo and Blaise Diagne International Airport in Senegal.
According to the Concession Agreement signed with the Kosovo State on 12 August 2010, 90% of the shares of Pristina International Airport 'Adem Jashari' were transferred to Limak Investment and Limak Construction for 20 years under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model of Limak Kosovo International Airport JSC.

During 2022, the number of passengers using Pristina International Airport reached 2,994,560 which was 37.31% when compared to the same period of previous year, while the total number of flights managed in ANP last year reached 21,842. This was an increase of 21.28% on a year-on-year basis.
In May 2023, Pristina International Airport handled 290,753 passengers, representing an increase of 12.8% compared to the same period in 2022, and up 59.8% on the pre-pandemic 2019. During the period from January to May 2023, the airport handled 1,236,015 travellers, up 16.2% compared to the previous year.
Limak Kosovo International Airport has set out plans for expansion. It will add four gates to the terminal with an investment of EUR3mn. It is also aiming for the resumption of long haul flights, having completed the extension of its runway and launching a new incentive program targeting services to far-away destinations, among others
