Korea Airports Corporation has seen a visible recovery from the pandemic at its airports,with KAC-owned airports handling a total of 63.1 million passengers over the ten-month period ended 31 Oct 2022.

This was 16.3% higher than the amount of passengers handled in the same period in 2021, but 12.5% lower than the amount of passengers handled in the same period in 2019 before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Much of the recovery has driven by the increase in domestic passenger traffic. In fact, KAC’s airports handled 67.2 million domestic passengers in 2021, surpassing the 66.2 million domestic passengers handled in 2019.

International passenger throughput at KAC’s airports continued to be low, with KAC’s airports handling about 50,000 international passengers in 2021, and about 700,000 international passengers over the ten-month period ended 31 October 2022.
