Overview

GVK Group is an Indian conglomerate with diversified interests in infrastructure, energy, resources, and hospitality. One of its key businesses was airport operations, where it played a significant role in modernizing and managing some of India's busiest airports.

1. India Operations:

GVK was a major player in India's airport sector through GVK Airport Holdings Ltd. The group managed:

  • Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL)
  • Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL)
  • Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA)

2. Overseas Operations:

GVK was responsible for commercial development at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Indonesia from 2013 to 2017.

GVK exited the airport sector by 2021, when Adani Group acquired 74% stake in MIAL, including GVK’s entire stake, effectively taking over Mumbai Airport and the Navi Mumbai project. GVK had sold its 10% stake in BIAL to Fairfax in 2017.
