For the year 2022, Croatia’s Zagreb Airport led the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, among the Bouygues Construction Airport Concessions airport assets.

Zagreb Airport registered its third busiest year on record in 2022 by handling 3.1 million passengers. This is an increase of 122.5% compared to the number of passengers handled in 2021 but is down 9.1% on the pre-pandemic 2019.

A detailed look at the monthly traffic over the past year shows that Zagreb Airport’s passenger traffic for the last two months of 2022 had surpassed that in the last two months of 2019, indicating that Zagreb Airport’s passenger traffic should be seeing a full recovery for this year.

Data from the Hermes Airports website shows that Larnaka and Pafos Airports in Cyprus handled a total of 9.2 million passengers  in 2022, an 80.4% increase compared to the 5.1 million passengers handled in 2021. The annual passenger traffic at Cyprus in 2022 was still 18.5% lower than the number of passengers handled in 2019.

For the month of January 2023, it was reported that 473,208 passengers travelled to and from Larnaca and Paphos airports, about 250,000 more than in January 2022. However, the passenger traffic in January 2023 has surpassed the 423,164 passengers handled at the two airports in January 2019, indicating that that the airports are clearly on the path to recovery.

Passenger throughput data for the year 2022 at Iqaluit International Airport has not yet been publicly-released but according to data available at Statistics Canada, Iqaluit International Airport had 17,768 aircraft movements in 2022, which was 6.8% higher than that in 2021 and 6.7% lower than that in the year 2019.
