AMP Capital was a major Australian investment management firm with a strong history in infrastructure investments, including stakes in airports such as Melbourne Airport, Launceston Airport, Port Hedland Airport in Australia, as well as Leeds Bradford Airport, Newcastle International Airport and London Luton Airport in the United Kingdom.
As part of a strategic shift, AMP Capital gradually exited the airport sector and broader infrastructure investments.
After rebranding itself as Collimate Capital in 2022, AMP Capital sold its global infrastructure equity investment management business (which included its investments in London Luton Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport and Newcastle Airport) to DigitalBridge Group Inc in February 2023, which rebranded the business as Infrabridge.
Around the same time in March 2023 , AMP Capital sold its real estate and domestic infrastructure equity business (which included in its investments in Melbourne, Launceston and Port Hedland Airports) to Dexus.
