Manchester Airport Group Sees Further Expansion of its Portfolio with Recovery from the Pandemic

Passenger traffic at Manchester Airport Group’s airports has seen a recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Group is now embarking on further capital expansions at Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands Airports while eyeing new airport acquisitions.
In the year ended 31 March 2024, Manchester Airport Group, which operates Manchester Airport, Stansted Airport and East Midlands Airport in the United Kingdom, handled a total of 61.3 million passengers across its three airports. For the group, this was a 13.5% increase compared to the number of passengers handled in the same period in the year ended 31 March 2023, and 2.8% higher than the number of passengers handled in the pre-pandemic period.
London Stansted became the first major airport in the United Kingdom to surpass pre-pandemic traffic levels in July 2023 and across the year ended 31 March 2024, it served 28.5 million passengers, an increase of 12% year-on-year and equal to 106% of traffic served for the 2019 fiscal year.
