Pangiam is building out its team of experts and fine-tuning its strategic direction, paving the way for tech growth across biometrics, baggage, retail, smart scheduling, and the wider passenger experience.

Technology-based security and travel services provider, Pangiam has hired former Amadeus senior executive Iyad Hindiyeh – a leader in aviation and technology – as CEO of a new division.

Pangiam Technologies will address the various touchpoints in the traveler journey and Hindiyeh will be using his vast experience in aviation to provide tech solutions to clients.

Pangiam Technologies new CEO Iyad Hindiyeh

Prior to joining Pangiam in July in the new role, Hindiyeh was senior vice president for strategy, business development and marketing at Amadeus IT Group with global responsibility across the Amadeus airport business unit.

He is a member of the ACI World Airport IT Strategic Committee (WAITSC) and has led multiple complex projects in the aviation sector worldwide. He has also held senior positions at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), UAE-based systems integrator Smartworld, and SITA.

Pangiam CEO Kevin McAleenan commented: “Iyad has remarkable experience in the global travel industry. We know his expertise, particularly in the aviation and technology sectors, will be an asset to our business as we continue reinventing global travel.”

Also coming aboard the same division as vice president of sales for the Americas is DeMeakey Williams, Sr, who has more than 20 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industries and will lead Pangiam’s revenue-generating activities across travel sectors. DeMeakey joins Pangiam from Crane Consulting, an international firm he founded in 2017. During his tenure, he focused on market expansion and business development for large public organizations.

Pangiam Strengthens its Team

Pangiam is a public-private partnership focused on operations, security, and safety at airports, seaports, and land border crossings using emerging technologies. Its customs and security professionals, many with experience at senior levels of the US government, have a deep understanding of security, facilitation, and disaster response challenges.

The company’s core private investor since October 2020, is private equity firm AE Industrial Partners, a specialist in the aerospace, defense and government services, space and power generation markets.

This year, Pangiam has significantly strengthened its team. As well as setting up a new tech division with new hires, earlier in August the company appointed two new board members: former IBM and FAA executives, respectively Rodney C. Adkins and Michael P. Huerta, who both possess deep technology and aviation industry experience. They will also leverage their public-private partnerships know-how to provide strategic direction to support Pangiam’s growth.

Adkins also serves on the board of directors for United Parcel Service, PayPal, and Grainger. Commenting on his new role, Huerta said: “I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and experienced team. As the world returns to travel, Pangiam offers solutions that will make the travel experience more seamless and more secure.”

Other recent hires include former BSA | The Software Alliance chief operating officer Ha McNeill as the new CEO of Pangiam Strategic Consulting in April, and former Versar senior vice president and CFO Christine Tarrago as chief financial officer at the end of February.
