Overview
Infraero will stop managing 10 state airports in Ceará as of the end of April 2025. The state-owned company took over the management, operation and maintenance of these airfields through a concession in August 2023, aiming to professionalize and standardize the management of state terminals. However, the partnership did not progress as planned. With the discontinuation of the service, the government of Ceará announced that it will make an emergency contract with a private operator to manage the terminals.
In the document sent to ABAG, Infraero details the discontinuation schedule:
- 22.Apr.2025 — Quixadá and Tauá Airports;
- 23.Apr.2025 — Sobral, Crateús and Igatu Regional Airports;
- 24.Apr.2025 — Airports of Camocim, Campos Sales and São Benedito;
- 29.Apr.2025 — Aracati Airport;
- Apr 30, 2025 — Jericoacoara Airport.
