airport deal

Bahamas – Grand Bahama (Freeport)

Operator // Grand Bahama Airport Company (GBAC)

Overview

Overview

In February 2020, the Bahamian Tourism and Aviation Minister stated publicly that the gov’t was finalizing negotiations to acquire FPO which is operated by GBAC – a privately owned joint venture between Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) and The Port Group (a.k.a. the Grand Bahama Port Authority – GBPA). FPO is comprised of just over 1100 ha, with an 11,000-foot runway. FPO was severely damaged in 2019 by multiple storm surges from Hurricane Dorian. The gov’t has also stated that the design for redevelopment of FPO must include measures to mitigate future weather-related damage. FPO is one of two Bahamian airports authorized for U.S. border preclearance operations (Nassau – Lynden Pindling being the second). In February 2021,  The government advised that as the Airport Authority Act is “location specific” it must be amended to facilitate the govt’s acquisition of GPA. The gov’t intends to structure the deal under a PPP framework, as a turn-key operation inclusive of design, financing, and construction, utilizing local talent for a state-of-the-art facility.

It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
